Guinea Fowl
This cache was placed in honour of jakl-B-hide.
For your involvement in the PE caching community during the early days. Even though you have moved to Perth now, you are still well remembered by the other teams of the era. You guys were truly a great team. A special mention needs to be made of your mini-series “Our heart is in PE” at the Van Stadens Flower Reserve. This series is still up and running and has received in the region of 600 logs to-date. Let’s also not forget your other special cache in Perth GC45NEF.

This cache is a small container hidden along the trail in the reserve. Many thanks to the NMMU for allowing us to use the NMMU Private Nature Reserve for geocaching. Please abide by their rules.
The following strict rules apply:
1. Entry to the reserve is free but everyone must sign the visitors book found at the entrance to the reserve.
2. No vehicles are allowed in the reserve.
3. No fires are allowed in the reserve.
4. The reserve may only be used during daylight hours.
5. The rangers have provided the following cell numbers in case of emergency.

About the Guinea Fowl:
The guinea fowl is a ground-nesting bird and spends much of its time scratching around on the ground in search for something to eat. The guinea fowl often have long, dark coloured feathers and a bald neck and head which makes the guinea fowl a very distinctive bird. Guinea fowl are resilient and highly adaptable bird and are therefore found naturally in a vast range of habitats. Wild guinea fowl can be found inhabiting jungles, forests, shrublands, grasslands and even areas of desert, depending on the abundance of food.
