Cytadela, czyli Fort Winiary, była największym fortem artyleryjskim w Europie. Położona jest na Wzgórzu Winiarskim w Poznaniu. Powstała w I połowie XIX wieku. Podczas II wojny światowej stanowiła ostatni punkt oporu Niemców. Fortyfikacje częściowo zburzono. Po wojnie Cytadelę systematycznie rozbierano z budowli obronnych. Cegły posłużyły do odbudowy zrujnowanych Warszawy i Poznania. Cytadela obecnie funkcjonuje jako park miejski, jest zresztą największym terenem zielonym w Poznaniu. Została uznana za pomnik historii. Znajdują się tu cmentarze wojenne. Można obejrzeć wystawę samolotów i czołgów. Spacerując ścieżkami parku, dochodzi się do amfiteatru. Tu również znajdują się rzeźby Magdaleny Abakanowicz i innych twórców.

The citadel, i.e. the Fort Winiary, was the biggest artillery fort in Europe. She is laid on the Wine Hill in Poznań. She came into existence in and for half of the 19th century. During the World War II she constituted the last line of resistance of Germans. Fortifications partly were demolished. After the war the Citadel systematically was being pulled down from fortified buildings. Bricks served for the reconstruction ruined of Warsaw and Poznań. The citadel at present is functioning as the urban park, is the biggest green belt as a matter of fact in Poznań. She was recognized as the monument to history. Here war graveyards are. It is possible to see an exhibition of planes and tanks. Walking with paths of the park, they are reaching the amphitheatre. Here sculptures of Magdalena Abakanowicz and other authors are also found.
