The cache has been placed just off the Platypus Walk at Hamilton.
The river walk follows the old mill race that runs alongside the Clyde River between Park and George Streets. You can gain access to the foot track at several places along River Street where you enter through self closing gates. The entrance nearest to the cache is at the corner of Grace and River Streets. A brochure that is available from the Heritage Centre mentions the walk and suggests that if you are very quiet and lucky you may catch sight of a platypus, especially in the early morning or in the evening – look for ripples on the water.
Remember that you are in the country and near water so keep a look out for snakes.
