In Victoria, 180 fires burnt an area twice the size of metropolitan Melbourne, around 200,000 hectares. As many as 2,545 individuals and families lost their homes with more than 3,700 buildings burnt. Livestock losses were high with 340,000 sheep and 18,000 cattle burnt.
Commemoration sites have been set up in areas that were hit worst by the fires. This Cairn recognises the contribution of the Nation’s farmers, service clubs and other volunteers to rehabilitate the area after the disaster.
You are looking for a camouflaged cache close to the memorial cairn. Bring a pen. Log is waterproof and you can still sign it with a ball-pint pen when wet.
Micro Log Hint: Roll up the paper log and place into lid, then slide the body of the tube over the log and push onto lid. Then the log will come out with the lid when next opened.
