KT49 Part IV: The Weariness of the Ancient Cacher Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Paperballpark: I'm not replacing any of this series. I suspect the river washed it away in the recent wet weather.

Geocache Description:

This is a small series of four caches, set as part of the event KT49 - The Rime of the Ancient Cacher.

The four caches are also designed to sit alongside my TRoTAM series of caches, and the poem 'The Rime of the Ancient Cacher' is a parody of the Samuel Taylor Coleridge poem 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner' which that series takes you through.

This poem tells the tale of an old cacher on a long journey, who is frustrated at every turn and ends up making only one find before returning.

PART IV
"Oh sleep! it is a gentle thing,
Beloved from pole to pole!
My feet were desperate for it,
And equally, my soul.

I moved, and could not feel my limbs:
I was so light—almost
I thought I might not make it
To the public house signpost.

I arrived like one that hath been stunned,
And is of sense forlorn:
A wetter and a colder man,
My feet! They were so worn."

The Cache

This cache is a small camo'd tube at the base of a tree. Please replace it securely! You'll need to bring your own pen, as there isn't one in the cache, and you do need to sign the log to claim the find.
