The road to Croggan is reached by taking the Loch Buie road. Look out for sign posts to Croggon, but beware this 4 mile stretch is very narrow and due to rocky outdrops may not be ideal for larger camper vans. You'll pass a small settlement called Barachandroman, a contender for the longest one word name place in Scotland! Once you have reached the parking spot, carry on on foot along a track.
This short wander will take you along the southern shore of Loch Spelve and you'll weave in among some lovely native tree species covered in a multitude of lichen and moss species, some will be rare and specific to the Scottish west coast. This coastline is great for otters especially as this is an area with fewer visitors and less disturbance. Look out for some interesting shapered rocks and erosion along the shoreline too.
Once you've found the cache you can return via the same route to your car but you might want to head slightly further along the trail to find an abandoned cottage right on the shoreline.
