Geocache Description:

This series is geared toward the geocacher just getting started in the game. Most of these are based on caches originally hidden by short circuit 2, a prolific member of our local community who is now hiding caches for us in the great beyond.

You are looking for a small container near a fairly busy Lakeview intersection. It's easy, but timimg it so there isn't a car next to you is everything. A tool for retrieving small objects may be appropriate.

The SC2 Lakeview Guide Book has the following two tidbits to offer about this loation:

"This one of four civic monuments in Lakeview. The others are a granite boulder to memory of George Thomas , the third is 30 Crepe Myrtles planted for the boys who died in WWI, and the last is the Jimmy Wedell. This statue of St Frances was placed in 1949, and has since become a focal point of Lakeview’s main street, Harrison Ave.

At one time before Lakeview was laid out it was part of city park. city park ran from metairie road now city park aveune to canal blvd and to the lake. It was bought by Don Almonaster from the cauchins most of which was swamp. with the swamp drained it was a paradise till Katrinia came along."
