Once the ground dries out for the summer you can access other caches to the north and south from this spot. You can also access seldom-used fishing spots on the east side of the Rogue River. You can walk south as far as Little Butte Creek but you cannot cross it nor connect to the Little Butte Creek trail that brought you to this spur (meaning that, so far as I can determine, everywhere you go on this trail means you'll be coming back to this spot to go home). Deer, horse and cow tracks indicate the larger inhabitants. Owl, crow, small birds, possum, coon and squirrel have left evidence here. It takes about an hour and a half to do the current caches along this spur trail and get back to your car. Enjoy! Don't forget to check SOUTHERN OREGON GEOCACHERS on Facebook.
