Hollin Hall Mill has now been converted into the flats ahead – many unsold when the cache was laid if you want one. Now pay attention to the route instructions! At the car park on the road ahead turn left on the road (i.e. away from the next cache) then almost immediately right to reach Slack Laithe ahead. You can see the stile you want through a gate on the right before it but go right round it on the left to get there. The owner DOES NOT PERMIT walkers to take the short cut and it seems unlikely that he will be any fonder of geocachers so there is a large gap here until we’re well off his land. Follow your gps through the stiles ahead. The next cache is on the far side of the wall.
Breaking the series. If, intentionally or otherwise, you need to complete the series over 2 days this is the place to do it as you can walk down the main road back to the lower car park – or even better get a bus. The terminus is a short way down almost opposite FW19. This is what I did when laying the caches. You can also probably see a shorter way to FW19 from the terminus. At the moment buses are ten past and twenty to the hour. Sundays ten past only. You want Cotton Tree and hence the lower Ball Grove Park car park. There is a bus stop for the second leg nearby (at the turning for FW36). Buses from there to the Trawden terminus are currently at the hour and half past but, rather weirdly, at 45 on Sundays.
