Geocache Description:

Fair weather dirt road only! Drive it at your own risk! It is not a far walk from the Hwy crossing. This cache is on our property and we only ask that when a crop is growing that you walk around it and not through it! Thanks! Cache is a small container with small trade items.

On June 19, 1978 shortly after GFM turned 13, he witnessed something that made a big impact on his life and many others around here. He was watching one of his favorite shows, "The Six Million Dollar Man", when the power went out. He looked out the window and he saw a mile wide tornado filling his field of view. So naturally what does he do? He goes outside to watch! Lucky for him, the tornado turned and went north away from the farm and destroyed the village of Aubigny. Not so lucky for those who lived in Aubigny. Luckily only a few were hurt and none were killed.

As you stand at this cache site, picture a mile wide torando with it's center passing 100m west of you and ripping a swath through the crop of flax that grew that year. The tree you are standing under, which was much smaller back then, survived with little damage except that most of the leaves were stripped off it.

Since then Aubigny has rebuilt and GFM continues with his life long infatuation with weather of all kinds and has witnessed and photgraphed many torandos in Manitoba. MHz often refers to him as her personal weather man and has storm chased with him a few times.

As you cache, keep your eyes on the skies!
