Geocache Description:

The Leaside Airfield was established by the Canadian government during World War I to train pilots, mechanics, and maintenance crews for the Royal Flying Corps. Nine hangars, along with instructional and repair buildings, a mess hall, and a hospital were built between what is now Eglinton Ave. and Wicksteed Ave. On June 24, 1918, after the war ended, Captain Brian Peck of the Royal Air Force delivered 120 letters to the airfield. This was the first test of a Canadian airmail delivery system.

This is a two stage multi cache. The posted coordinates will take you to a plaque commemorating the first delivery of mail by air in Canada. There you must look for two hidden three-digit numbers. These are the seconds of the North and West coordinates (note: North digits end with 0). The final can be found at N 43° 43.*** W 079° 21.***. Please bring your own pen/pencil. You may also find it useful to have a flashlight depending on the time of day. Please be sure to replace the cache exactly as found. I hope you enjoy this little adventure!
