This thorn veld reserve is 250 ha and managed by the Msunduzi Municipality. It is an easy area to walk, and contains excellent bushveld birds, plus giraffe, Impala and Zebra.
Mothers can delay giving birth for a month if the weather conditions are harsh, such as during the wet season. The sex ratio among impala is weighed in favour of the female, with twice as many females born each year.
The security gate to the horse stables is ALWAYS closed but not locked and can be pushed open The gate MUST be left closed after entering or leaving the reserve. . Follow the signs to the picnic / parking. Here at parking the hinge gate is always locked but there is foot access gate.
