L’opera rappresenta il completamento della variante esistente, realizzata nel tratto tra Omegna e Casale Corte Cerro, dal viadotto sito a sud-est del Comune di Casale Corte Cerro sino alla confluenza sulla S.S. 33 ad est del concentrico di Gravellona Toce. È un’infrastruttura moderna che migliora la viabilità del “nodo di Gravellona Toce”, congestionato dal traffico proveniente da Omegna, da Casale Corte Cerro (S.R. 229), da Verbania (S.S. 33 e S.S. 34) e dal vicino svincolo autostradale della A26 Genova/Sempione. L’opera, complessiva costituita da 3 viadotti (Vallessa, Strona 1 e 2) lunghi complessivamente 455 m, la galleria naturale “Bocciol” che si estende per 1270 m sotto il monte Mottarone, 2 rotatorie (a nord della S.S.33 e a sud del viadotto Strona 1), è inserita in un contesto naturalistico in prossimità della futura area del parco fluviale e dell’area industriale, con interventi di riqualificazione, compresi tra lo Strona e la zona industriale di Casale Corte Cerro.
The work represents the completion of the existing variant, built in the section between Omegna and Cerro Casale Court, from the viaduct site south-east of the city of Cerro Casale Court until the confluence of the SS 33 east of the concentric Gravellona Toce. It is a modern infrastructure that improves the viability of the "node Gravellona Toce", congested by traffic from Omega, from Casale Corte Cerro (SR 229), from Verbania (SS 33 and SS 34) and the nearby motorway junction of the A26 Genova / Sempione. The work consists of three overall viaducts (Vallessa, Strona 1 and 2) total length 455 m, the natural tunnel "Bocciol" that extends for 1270 m below the mountain Mottarone, 2 roundabouts (north and south of the SS33 viaduct Strona 1), is inserted in a natural environment in the vicinity of the future area of the river park and the industrial area, with redevelopment, between the Strona and the industrial area of Cerro Casale Court.
