When I published this cache there has been a wee, hard to find footpath, from the official walking trail between Dufftown and Craigellachie leading downhill to some amazing beautiful ruins (I don't mean the well maintained path - with the sign "DRAMBLE" - leading next to the modern warehouses to the islay way, downhill to the River Fiddich. However this path will guide you to the final of my Dufftown Multi ;-), cross the bridge - under the bridge - but that's a different cache.)
To my deep regret these ruins, which have been the reason to place a cache here with the name "Back to the Bast" have been demolished now. Such a beautiful witness of the past disappeared. I have added several pictures for those of you who are interested.
Anyway, the cache is still in its original hide, safe and sound, and to my surprise easier to find as before but still nicely hidden.
Today the easiest access to the cache is to stop at the main road, A 941, between Dufftown and Craigellachie. Near 57.464228, -3.136012 is a smaller gate lined by very old trees - there is a wee parking spot right behind the gate on the right hand side - but I don't know if this is an official spot, so it's up to you if you like to leave the car there for a moment!
But please do not drive further - there is no chance to turn the car and due to the works going on at the ruins, it's a dead-end-path in the moment.
Follow this old track between the beautiful large trees - see spoiler - until you are stopped by a temporarily fence of the workers. The cache is on the left hand side - between an old post and the old wall, near an open "Door to the Past" - o.k. it's more a "Gate to the Past".

In previous listing I have mentioned another access, a wee detour from the River Fiddich Path, which can be used as well again. Walking from Dufftown, shortly BEFORE you cross the bridge there is a wee footpath leading between the vegetation downhill to the old stables of this ruin, now used to host bats. Please note, it a pretty muddy area, especially now in the wet winter month.
Does anyone of you have old images or more details about that place, what it used to be? Would be nice to learn more about its history.

Als ich diesen Cache auslegte, gab es noch einen Zugang vom offiziellen Wanderweg zwischen Dufftown und Craigellachie. Etwa bei N57° 27.990' W3° 08.113' konnte man einen kleinen Trampelpfad entdecken, der etwas hinunter durch den Wald in Richtung einiger Ruinen führte - (nicht der gepflegte "DRAMBLE-Weg, der Nahe an den neuen Lagerhäusern vorbeiführt, dieser führt zum Islay Way - und zum Final des meines Dufftown Multi's ;-) - auf der anderen Seite der Brücke / unter der Brücke!).
Die Ruinen dieses einst so schönen Anwesens hier waren etwas besonderes, man konnte erahnen wie hübsch es mal gewesen ist. Leider wurde das Hauptgebäude inzwischen abgerissen. Der Durchgang, der Pfad, der vorher durch das Anwesen führte, ist aber wieder begehbar - doch achtung, es geht durch's Gebüsch und ist besonders in den Wintermonaten sehr matschig!
Zu meiner Überrasching ist der Cache immer noch an Ort und Stelle, sogar etwas besser zu finden, wenn man hier nicht querfeld ein geht, sondern die Zufahrt von der Hauptstraße aus nutzt: An der Hauptstraße zwischen Dufftown und Craigellachie, der A941, ist etwa bei 57.464228, -3.136012 ein von hohen alten Bäumen gesäumtes Tor. Dies ist eigentlich immer offen, gleich dahinter rechts ist ein kleiner Platz für ein Auto. Es ist kein offizieller Parkplatz, es ist also Ihnen überlassen, den Wagen hier kurz abzustellen oder nicht.
Bitte auf keinen Fall weiter diesen Pfad mit dem Auto fahren, es besteht die Gefahr im Matsch stecken zu bleiben und es gibt keine gute Wendemöglichkeit!
Geht die paar Schritte, es ist ein schöner alter Weg - siehe Spoiler - an sehr schönen alten Bäumen vorbei. Kurz vor dem Grundstück, wo bisher die schöne alte Ruine stand, ist auf der linken Seite ein kleines altes Tor... Der Cache befindet sich hinter einer "Tür zur Vergangenheit" - oder besser hinter einem "Tor zur Vergangenheit", zwischen einem Türpfosten und einer alten Steinmauer.
