Geocache Description:

This letterbox hybrid is located in Douglas Walker Park. Winter hours are in effect. Gates close at 3pm.

Cache is not at posted coordinates.

Use coordinates above to begin letterbox journey.

(this can be a high muggle area in warm months!)

Clowns, Clowns, Clowns...

Are they comical, or are they creepy?  Head to the posted coordinates.  Do not search for the cache here.  There is no cache container at the playground structure.  It's merely a place to stop and think.

Think back to the days of "Bozo the Clown."  Kids loved this show, and most memories of Bozo are comical and fun.  What color was his hair?

Head over to the play structure, and zoom down the slide that matches the color of Bozo's hair. (Ha! All the slides are the same color, so use the one that leaves you facing south!)

After zipping down the slide, look southeast across the soccer fields.  Start walking.  You will need to walk between 500 and 600 feet to the treeline just before the railroad tracks.  Most of this walk should be across mowed soccer fields.  (you will be heading SE towards a large fallen tree stump)

While you are walking, think about Ronald McDonald.  Is he comical, or creepy?

Actually, thinking about Ronald just makes me hungry.  Big Mac, yummy.  French fries, yummy.  Sweet Tea, yummy.

How about Krusty the Clown?  I think he's comical, and perhaps a bit annoying.

A couple more... Pennywise and Joker?  Totally creepy.

Have you walked 500-600 feet yet?  Look over your shoulder and make sure no clowns are following you. (insert joke about fellow cachers here!)

Now, focus ahead of you.  There is a very obvious and large fallen tree stump along the treeline.  Walk as close as possible to this large tree stump without entering the woodsy area.  Staying in the mowed area, turn north.  If you think most clowns are comical- walk 19 steps north along the tree line.  If you think most clowns are creepy- walk 24 steps north along the tree line.

Look into the woodsy area for a large tree with multiple trunks.  Now, go find the cache! (you should be within 25 feet)

Take care to watch out for the old barbed wire fence... There is no need to cross the fence to get to the cache.

This letterbox cache contains a vintage clown stamp for your stamping enjoyment. (the stamp pad is a tight fit in the container, but it does come out)
