When "J" was growing up, he had a family friend who used to live just a couple of miles up this road to the west. For years, the gravel road connected directly to Highway 21 right near the posted coordinates. Then sometime around the late 1980's, the Province decided to do a fairly major upgrade to this section of the highway as it went through the river valley. As part of that work, the entrance from this gravel road onto the highway was moved further to the south to allow vehicles to enter and exit the highway at a safer location.
Both stages of this cache are located on that section of the public road right-of-way where the old highway access used to be.
