The multiple buildings and mature trees at this temple create a serene, picturesque environment. Here you'll find the typical Thai-style golden painted wat with three ornamented roof tiers. These are adorned with many chofas—decorative ornaments resembling a horned bird, representing the mythical Garuda. Beautiful golden seated Buddhas surround the building. Walk around the expansive area and find open air meeting and prayer rooms, assembly buildings, monk residences and a large group of unique-looking stupas out back. Continue west onto the quiet beach, which captures Koh Samui sunsets year-round.
