I have passed this cemetary many times and have wanted to put a cache here. It is rich in history. It was not until recently that it was accessable to the public.
Vergennes Burial Grounds
This is an interesting place. It had been maintained by the Vergennes Congregational Church for many years through a trust fund. After some research by a local resident, Susan Ferland, it was determined to belong to the City of Vergennes. The Ciry of Vergennes has taken over the maintenance and have put a new fence around it with a gate that makes it accessable to the public during daylight hours.
