The eastern side of this hill is called Blue Hill and the west side is known as The Slacks. Slacks woodland contains a large circular burial cairn and three hut circles. There are also a further four possible hut circles, a cairn field and boundary features visible. The plantation itself is fairly open and is a pleasant walk.
Follow the main track from the parking area all the way to the top of the hill. The route to Kirkhill continues straight ahead but to find this cache you should bear right, passing a memorial bench with some nice views out to Fintray and Blackburn.
This can be a busy little wood, so stealth may be required and please make sure the cache is replaced carefully so that it remains well hidden. Thanks to Forestry Commission Scotland for permission to place this cache.
