After 89 years at Christie Park, Morecambe FC moved to their new ground you see here, The Globe Arena, in 2010. A Supermarket bought out the old land and using the money wisely, Morecambe FC now have this fantastic modern ground which not only provides a place for "The Shrimps" to play, but excellent facilities for the wider community such as function rooms and several all weather pitches. Whilst the new ground was named after the contractors building the new stadium, the approach road recognises the original financial backer of the club, Joseph Barnes Christie, who the old ground was named after.
