Multi-stage cache which will take you on a culinary and architectural tour of Asheville.
You can do all the stages in one day to gather information or go slowly and stop in at some of these treasures.
These establishments have been the backbone of the culinary scene for many years or are younger and making far-flung headlines.
At each stage you need to match up the photo with a building's architecture.
These may or may not be the eating establishments, but are near to them. You may have to walk around the building to find some clues, but you should be able to see the building from the coordinates. The clues can be figured out by looking from coordinates at the building, or you are very near to the clue..
The clue for each coordinate number "A" through "H" are derived from looking at the building that corresponds with the picture.
Stage 1: A= the number of protruding brick objects coming out of the roof, PLUS 5.
Stage 2: B= Sum of the last two digits of tiled year.
Stage 3: C= Number of large "time-faces" visible from coordinates, in the building/image looking West, down the street, PLUS 1. You do not need to walk up to this structure for the correct answer, though when leaves are on trees, these may be slightly obscured.
Stage 4: D= Number of letters describing the color of the squares tiles directly above the door, MINUS 2.
Stage 5: E= Count the triangular panes of glass above the front door and DIVIDE by 3.
Stage 6: F= Number of building floors/stories with blue vertical shapes in one vertical line, at far end of building, visible from coordinates, MINUS 3.
Stage 7: G= How many slanted doors on the East side of the building? You may have to walk around building to match the picture.
Stage 8: while looking structure, turn around to find :H= Total number of "Souls" MINUS the number of "O"s in just one of the city names near the "Souls".
CHECKSUM= A+B+C+D+E+F+G+H= XY; X+Y=3.
