Shibden Park
The medieval, timber framed hall was a family home for over 600 years. A public park since 1926, Shibden Estate is a green oasis, less than a mile from Halifax in West Yorkshire.
Explore Shibden's beautifully restored grounds, commissioned by Anne Lister and influenced by the picturesque landscape movement of the early 19th century. The "Paisley Shawl" inspired Victorian bedding designs of Joshua Major, laid out on the front lawn at the hall, are a feast of colour as the spring and summer bedding erupts.

.The Mere, designed to resemble a large river flowing through the Shibden valley, is now is home to rowing boats, an island and a population of birds that make their home at Shibden.
