Σε μια πράσσινή κοιλάδα στην περιοχή της Δίκτης βρίσεκεται το πανέμορφο χωριό της Καλαμάυκας. Χαρακτηριστικό για το χωριό είναι δάση πλάτανων, πεύκων και ελιών και μια βρύση με καταρακτάκια.
Στο λόφο του Κάστελου υπάρχει μια σπηλιά και μέσα σ’ αυτήν η εκκλησία του Σταυρού, όπου μπορείτε να φτάσετε αφού ανεβείτε 242 σκαλοπάτια. Από 'κει μπορείτε να απολαύσετε τη μαγευτική θέα προς τα κάτω στο Αιγαίο και στο Λιβυκό Πέλαγος.

Set in a lush valley of the highest parts of the Dikti range, Kalamafka is one of the most beautiful villages in Crete. Forests of sycamore trees, pine trees, olive trees and a spring with small waterfalls are the characteristics of this picturesque settlement.
“Kástelos Hill» overlooks the village and from here – after climbing up 242 steps – you have an impressive view over both Mediterranean and Libyan sea. At the top of Kastelos you will find within a cave the small chapel «Timios Stavros».

In einem grünen Tal in der Region des Dikti-Gebirges liegt Kalamafka, eines der schönsten Dörfer auf Kreta. Wälder von Platanen, Pinien, Olivenbäumen und eine Quelle mit kleinen Wasserfällen prägen den Charakter dieses malerischen Ortes.
Der “Kástelos-Hügel» überragt das Dorf und von hier oben - nach einem Anstieg über 242 Treppenstufen - hat man eine beeindruckende Sicht sowohl über das Ägäische Meer im Norden wie über das Libysche Meer im Süden. Auf dem Gipfel des Kástelos liegt innerhalb einer Höhle die Felsenkapelle «Timios Stavros».
