Eglish Heritage Trail 16 Gort Hill Traditional Cache

This series of caches are placed along the Eglish Heritage Trail and are designed to highlight the history of the area and the wonderful work of the Eglish Historical Society who are responsible for the historical information included below.

16 Gort Hill is the highest hill in the area and was used for reconnaissance by various armies during the wars of the 17th Century. On a clear day the 9 counties of Ulster may be seen from here.
The cache is located where there is a great view from the hill top.
