Just 6 miles west from Stratford-upon-Avon. Legend even has it that no less a figure than William Shakespeare enjoyed a visit to a local hostelry and then slept under a tree on his way back to Stratford one night after a skin full of ale! The River Avon still flows majestically to the south of the village. Enjoy spectacular views of the River Avon.
It’s back! Even more sneaky than before! Please please put his back as you found it, and make sure it is secure, a lot of effort has gone into this. TY 👌
there is free car parking before the bridge, or by the fire station. If you want to park on the big meadow there is a £3 (all day) fee. If you park in the free car park make your way across the bridge and head right. Follow the river and enjoy the views and the big meadow. Keep trucking along the river's edge. You will be heading towards Marlcliffe. You will see a BAA fishing sign, my favourite past time, so please be polite if there are people fishing. Over the very little foot bridge (plank) and keep 'em peeled.
