This geocache is located beside the Richmond River. The Richmond River starts on the Great Dividing Range and flows east through Kyogle, Casino, Coraki and Woodburn before reaching the Pacific Ocean in Ballina. It decends 256m over its 237km course. The catchment area of the river is estimated at 6,862 square kilometres (2,649 sq mi), which makes it the sixth largest catchment in New South Wales.
