A small bridge entrance to the Capital State Forest.
I have been coming to the Capital State Forest for years. I like the area so much with so much to do and see. A number of years ago this small creek that is running under this bridge became a very large river that took this bridge out. It also took out many other areas around the Forest. I remeber many trails that were wiped out and were impassable after the floods. As you can tell this is a new bridge that replaced the old one. It appears that the water is much farther below this one if my memory serves me right so there should be no issues for years to come. We were out Caching in Capital Forest two times today...one to get a cache that we had not found and the other to get a FTF way up over the top. We started walking from the main parking area at the Rock Candy parking and walked the trail. These are great trails in the winter/early spring when the motorcycles are not out here. I am a motorcycle rider also so I am not upset about them being there...it is just so much nicer to walk when the trails are clear. The trails heading up to Rock Candy Mountain are great and fun to walk. Maybe there would be a little more reason for people to take "The Hard Way to Hammy" if there was more incentive...Those may come on a later date. But until then we have given a little more reason to head up the road and take the "Easier way to Hammy's SOTA Cache" until the time comes. There is a lot to see up here. Thanks for visiting and have fun collecting Caches in Capital Forest.
