The Fremont Area District Library is a great community center featuring many public works of art! The sculpture out front was designed by local artists Ray Jansma and Cara O'Brien, featuring Ray's grand children carting books to the library. Inside you will notice Rod Brayman's stained glass windows, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and the Prairie Style in the entrance area. If fact the entire library is designed by Frye Gillan Molinaro Architects and is based on the Prairie Style. In the children's area you will notice a dinosaur sculpted by Lori Hough and murals by Renae Wallace.
Once you find this cache, bring it to a table in the NorthEast corner of the library. Take a gander through its contents, sign the log book, swap some swag, but watch out for muggles of the extra-terrestrial kind created by Lori Hough!
This cache is my summary of current public art pieces in the Fremont area. There is a guide book completed by a local Girl Scout troop, and many other art related bits and pieces to enjoy and enlighten. While you're browsing this "book" feel free to grab Jansma 921 and take a gander at it too! There are some amazing artists in Newaygo County! Don't forget to re-shelf the item in the same spot. If you need help ask the fabulous reference librarian, Jill, to return it properly. (She's got super powers of literary resourcefulness...so if you ever need a source...) Have fun, and cache on! Congratulations Zapadi on the FTF!
