Initially a Norman castle, the site appears to have been refortified by Henry II in the 1180s, as indicated by the exceptional quality of the masonry.
There is a nano size cache hidden outside of the external gate (in order to make this cache available 24/7). Please replace exactly as found and ensure the lid is down tight.
Note: to find this cache, you will NOT need to put your hands inside gaps in the castle walls or into overgrown areas (I mention this both for safety and to prevent any damage to the walls). This cache IS NOT inside the graveyard or inside the castle grounds, it is on the outside and accessible 24/7.
I'd advise not attempting to remove the log unless you have a log roller handy as it's quite a tight squeeze to get the sheet back inside. Happy caching!
