The Goosey Gander series starts at the Walkabout Trail and climbs up the mountain on a bike trail, crossing the main logging road at about 3 km and also crossing two side roads. The Walkabout series of caches are hidden along the Walkabout Trail between the junction with a mountain bike trail and the New Settlement community reservoir. One previous cache (Walkabout Pacific Yew) was archived to allow placement of a new Goosey Gander cache on a newer access trail which starts closer to the logging road parking area.
You are looking for film canisters wrapped with black tape. Parking is available on both ends of the Walkabout Trail and of course it is possible to find strategic parking along the logging road to grab caches higher up.
Turn off Pass Creek Road and follow Goose Creek Road to where the pavement ends. Cross the bridge over Goose Creek and park by the signs (N 49 25.121 W 117 39.214). This is where the Goose Creek Gander Creek Forest Service Road starts. Walkabout Trail is on the right at the base of the road.
Alternate parking is available at the other end of the Walkabout Trail (N 49° 25.420 W 117° 37.439). Turn off Pass Creek Road on to Sorokin Road then take the right branch, Reservoir Road, to the end. Please drive slowly through the New Settlement community.
