The Tolt MacDonald suspension bridge spans 500 feet across the Snoqualmie River in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Built in 1976 by the Army Reserve’s 409th Engineering Company, this bridge was part of the nation’s bicentennial celebrations and included 20,000 volunteers and 75,000 hours of volunteer work to construct the surrounding campgrounds, trails, viewpoints and picnic areas. Keep an eye out during the fall for salmon spawn in the river below!
