Sweetwater Hammock Preseve, is an 8 acre area located along The North Fork, of the Saint Lucie River. The area is mostly a hydric hammock and flood plain swamp. The interprative trail here is just over a 1/2 mile in length. The trail is mostly level, wide and dry, as well as shaded. This is a nice place to take a walk and enjoy a spot of nature in a mostly suburban area. Parking is at the trailhead. There is a canoe launch that is located along the back of the preserve.
The cache is located off the main trail, and on a side path that leads to the river's edge. The footing in this area can be a bit tricky because of exposed roots. Cache is a bison that is hanging on a host. BYOP and please return cache as you found it.
