Geocache Description:

From #5 please stick to the paths. There is a gate diagonally across the fields as you come out of the woods but you cant necessarily see it because of the hedge. Walk straight on with the hedge on your right across the field. Roughly halfway across you will see a gap and a footpath sign. It is roped to stop horses going through but it's easy to get through and is not electrified. I have always enjoyed visiting and driving through this part of Kent. So this small loop of caches is set up to try and take in the beauty of the surrounding countryside. The distance between some of the cache is deliberate so that you have time to take your eyes off the GPS for a bit and look around you and enjoy the actual walk. You will be passing through farmers fields which have livestock in them, please observe the rules about keeping dogs on leads. All of the caches are placed close to the footpaths. I hope you enjoy the walk and the caches. If going onto number #7 then walk down the road and eventually you will see the path go off between houses on the right. A little bit of information about Petham. THE PARISH OF PETHAM lies in a healthy, though wild and romantic country of steep hills, the soil of which is very poor, barren and chalky, and covered with sharp slints, the fields are in general large; at the western boundaries it is covered with woodland, at the eastern runs the Stone-street way from Canterbury to Hythe and Limne, the Portus Lemanis of the Romans.
