"The Partridge Family" aired from 1940-1974. The story line followed a widowed mother (Shirley Jones) and her five kids (heart-throb David Cassidy, Susan Dey, Danny Bonaduce, Brian Forster, Suzanne Crough) who form a band and make a hit record, then travel around the country in a groovy school bus. The series was based loosely on The Cowsills, a family pop musical group popular in the late 60's. The show contrasted life on the road with a cozy suburban life they return to after the tour is over. Focusing on feel-good music, hapless adults, scheming kids and heart-throb teens, the show launched the hits "I Think I Love You," "I Woke Up In Love This Morning" and the theme song "C'mon Get Happy."
