Hobo. and I had to go out to the different parts of Arcadia 5 times to place all of the Rhode Island Star caches.
But what people probably don't think about is... Yeah, there's all the Star caches, but there's at least that many cache containers.
Each container was purchased from 4 different stores (because I kept buying them out, oops).
They had to be sanded.
And primed and painted (mostly, okay, entirely done by Hobo.).
All the log books had to be cut, written on, and put in zip lock baggies.
Swag was purchased from 2 or 3 different stores, then distributed into all the containers.
Then we (I) hauled the containers around on our hikes with everything else we needed.
We got lost. We had to back track. We had to move a few because the trails got too close to each other.
Pictures were taken of most of the areas.
We wrote ourselves hints and clues, took multiple sets of coords, and noted terrain levels.
I put my foot in mud only once.
Then we asked people to beta test the caches for us, which Hobo. came up with sheets for testers to use to find the caches as the listings weren't published yet. We also had them add extra swag, confirm coordinates, and other tasks for us.
At one point we even carried a sleeping toddler.
And this cache... Yeah, this one is a reject of the Star series. We loved the spot, but it's not part of the Star. The logbook says it is, but, it's not.
But, oh hey, there's benches. Have a seat. Maybe have a snack. Hiking is hard. But if you're hiking the Star in order and stop here along the way, you have a great time ahead.
Please replace the cache as found. Blaze orange required during hunting season.
