Geocache Description:

The series "Room 222" focused on an American History class at the fictional Walt Whitman High School in Los Angeles, CA.  Located in room 222, the class was taught by Pete Dixon, an idealistic African-American schoolteacher who delivered lessons to his students in tolerance and understanding.  He was admired by the students for his wisdom, insight, and easy going manner.  The show ran from Sept 1969 to Jan 1974.

Just down the road from this cache is Thrasher Elementary School, a strong part of our local history.  The school, located on James Blvd, opened in 1961, and grew rapidly with the population of Signal Mountain.  The school is named for Judge Wilkes T. Thrasher.  In 2014, Thrasher Elementary ranked better than 99.9 percent  of schools in Tennessee and ranked first among the elementary schools in Hamilton County.
