As the cache name indicates, this cache is hidden on most southerly vineyard in Africa.
Upon entering, parking areas are clearly indicated.
A short stroll from parking area (less than 50m) to the coordinates will take you to a compass-like circle made of four different coloured stones – that is where you will search. The GZ is sheltered behind trees and should not be too exposed.
Looking at the beautiful environment and well looked-after gardens, it is no surprise that the winegrowers in this area are involved numerous biodiversity plans in place such as:
- Farming in accordance to international standards, aiming to preserve the unique fauna and flora of the Agulhas Plains, some of which species are only found in this area.
- Launching projects to eradicate alien invaders such as pine trees, Port Jackson willows (A. Saligna) and Rooikrans (Acacia Cyclops) which threaten natural underground water resources.
The cache and its location were approved and agreed to be maintained.
