It's Summer Picnic time!
As always this event is open to any and all Geocachers.
This year we'll be Picnicking in a barn shelter near the Snoqualmie river. It's a pretty neat place so come on out with your favorite picnic food, for the potluck. Relax with us share caching stories and eat some good food. While your here be sure to find the caches on the trails in the park.
Location: Tolt-Macdonald Park, Barn Shelter
Date: Saturday July 11th, 2015
Time: 3:00pm - 6:00Pm
EVENTS:
Drawings: We will be holding 2 prize drawings this year. One will be an early bird drawing. In order to be entered into this, you will need to post your will attend before midnight on the 4th of July the winner will recieve something special for planning ahead!
The second drawing is for WSGA members, so be sure to bring your current 2015 badge to the event, show us that at the welcome table and you will be entered into a drawing for an extra special gift as a thank you for supporting WSGA. If you’re not a WSGA member we encourage you to support events like this, and the club by signing up online or in person at a WSGA event.
Raffle: There will be a general raffle for various items, including cache containers, swag, coins and a stuffed animal or two.
(If you would like to donate a item to the raffle please let one of us know)
Caching: There are nine caches inside of the Tolt-McDonald Park. One very close to where the event is.
There will be a Trackable / Coin exchange area
Additional activity: The park is right at the confluance of the Tolt River and the Snoqualmie so "floating" the river on hot day can be great way to cool off, or just wade into the Tolt to cool off. There is also camping available at Tolt-McDonald Park, both tent and RV sites, so you could stay the night and make a full weekend of caching out of it. If your interested in camping you will need to make arrangements directly with the park.
The Potluck:
Picnicking: Besides the barn shelter there is lawn behind the shelter that we can spread out on. There are lots of picnic tables in the shelter, but feel free to bring along favorite chair. This year our theme is going to be cowboy, since we are out in a country barn. If you like you could bring a dish that goes with the theme or even dress the part!
Food & Drink: We'll have hamburgers, and hot dogs on the grill, plus all the fixin's. For beverages we will have soda, water and ice. This is a potluck so please bring a dish, side dish, or desert to share.
