Geocache Description:

CONGRATULATIONS to GRUMPY OLD TEXAN for finding BOTH of the caches in this special collaboration! WELL DONE!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ZSteve for finding BOTH of the caches in this special collaboration!

This multicache is a special "Partnership Cache" between Texas and New York. This geocache is linked with another geocache in New York, The New York -Texas Exchange (GC5R4PW). In fact, you will actually be doing two caches- one for a find for yourself and a second one as a partner for another cacher so that he/she can obtain a find. In order to find the caches, two geocachers (one from each state/area) must build a team. You will need to find a helpful geocacher in the Tri-State area, who will do the caches at the same time with you and who is willing to share information with you. Each cache consists of 3 stages (the last stage is the final container with the logbook).

The coordinates for the first stage of this cache are on the top of this page. In the container you will find the key to solving the puzzle on this cache page which, in turn, will give you coordinates for the second stage’s location in New York. Your teammate will find that stage. Inside will be coordinates which your teammate will send to you to help you determine the location of the final in Texas. Your teammate will, in turn, find the first stage of the New York cache and send that information to you so that you will be able to collect from the second stage in Texas the information he/she needs to find the New York final.

You will sign the Texas log and he/she will sign the New York log. You will earn a smiley on the Texas geocache and your teammate in New York will earn a smiley on the New York geocache.

You cannot log the New York cache UNLESS you go to NY and find that one.. Log only the Texas cache.

The point of this geocache is a bit different than the typical geocache. The idea is that you get to seek and form a long-distance partnership with a geocacher you've not met before. Working in a partnership with another geocacher who needs your assistance as much as you need theirs adds a unique dimension to this geocache experience. To this end, we ask you to respect the following...

GUIDELINES:

Please mention your team in your log.

Please play fair!

Every cacher plays only one time on one team

Every cacher shares his information only with his teammates.

Once upon a time there was a super dedicated geocacher named Captain Math. His special passion was solving puzzle caches. He traveled far and wide seeking, solving, and signing logs for puzzles in the farthest reaches of the continent. No puzzle escaped his notice. One day he wandered into a dry, dusty, hot city in far west Texas in search of that high that engulfed him whenever an abundance of puzzle caches called to him. Sure enough this area was teeming with those enticing conundrums. And they seemed to be the specialty of one prolific hider named Mommio. Will she stump him? Doubtfully! Time was an issue; but he would persevere until each and every one of those puzzles was solved and the logs duly inked.

But there was time for just one traditional that promised to be interesting. Located in the southeastern part of the city and easily accessible from his location, it begged him to come and find it. The good captain followed his GPS to the correct neighborhood. He pulled up to the curb. Stealthily he left his vehicle and crept quietly up the sidewalk. Sneakily he mounted the steps and saw the prize right before his eyes. A monster toy box was calling to him to come and plumb its depths. Silently he opened the box and retrieved the log. Suddenly the front door opened and a figure stepped out. Alas! He had been caught! Mommio herself watched him complete his task. Being a friendly sort she invited him in and engaged him in a conversation. They exchanged email addresses; then she sent him on his way. Time passed during which Captain Math continued traveling throughout the country in search of more and more puzzles; during that time Mommio continued to create more and more puzzles that drove local cachers to distraction.

One day the captain returned. How could he not? There were more puzzles to be found in that west Texas city. A luncheon event brought him an introduction to the local cachers and a reunion with Mommio. Once more, with Mommio in tow, he cleared the area of unsolved puzzles and then went on his way. Will he return to west Texas? I suspect so. Mommio has been busily creating puzzle caches and even a whole series of on-site puzzle caches that should pique his curiosity.

It is not surprising therefore, that these two geocachers should collaborate on a long distance cache to mark their friendship. Mommio approached Captain Math to share a multi. How could he resist? And so this cache has been created for your pleasure and amusement.
