Liberty Park was designed by the Olmsted brothers in 1908. In 1968, the state decided to put in an east-west freeway called I-90 directly through the heart of Liberty Park. What Spokane sees today as Liberty Park is a re-creation of some of the park features paid back to the park board from the highway department for displacing a lake, a pond and pool. on the other side of I-90 you can still find the ruins of Old Liberty Park's arbored terrace.
The Earth revolves around the Sun in approximately 365.242199 days. The Gregorian calendar has 365 days in one year. Leap Year add a day on February 29 nearly every 4 years, so we don't lose almost six hours off our calendar every year. 2016 is the 4th Leap Year since Geocaching began.
I decided to place 29 caches in Spokane's South Hill to celebrate Leap Year 2016. I hope you enjoy the series!
