LE MYSTERE DES MONTJOIES 4

Pendant des années nous nous demandions dans quel but ces étranges constructions cylindriques le long du chemin ont été utilisés. Enfin, nous avons la réponse grâce à nos amis Français, Bernard et Françoise qui, depuis des années, nous donnent chaque semaine l'annexe de l'Independant avec les promenades . Merci Bernard et Françoise !
En 1945, Narbonne devint propriétaire de 3 sources : Auriole, St-Pierre, Duc. Captées, elles furent reliées par des canalisations souterraines en terre cuite via un réservoir dit de réunion (actuel bâtiment de couleur rouge). Des regards en pierre dotés d'une couverture hémicylindrique (163) - "le montjoies" - furent construits afin de curer les obturations et assurer le bon écoulement des eaux.

For many years we wondered what these strange cylindrical constructions along the way have been used. Finally, we have the answer thanks to our French friends, Bernard and Françoise who, for years, give us every week the schedule of the independent with walks. Thank you Bernard and Françoise!
In 1945, Narbonne became owner of 3 sources: Auriole, St-Pierre, Duke. Captured, they were connected by underground pipes in Terra cotta meeting via a "reunion" (current building of red colour). These cylindrical constructions, called "montjoies" (163) were built to be able to carry out surveillance and to fix any problems.

Jarenlang vroegen we ons af wat die eigenaardige halfcirkelvormige constructies waren die we langs de weg zagen. Eindelijk hebben we het antwoord gekregen dank zij onze Franse vrienden Bernard en Françoise die al jaren ons elke week de bijlage bezorgen van l'Independant met wandelingen. Bedankt Bernard en Françoise !
In 1495 werd Narbonne eigenaar van 3 bronnen : Auriole, St-Pierre en Duc. Deze werden verbonden met ondergrondse kanalen die samenkwamen in een "réunion" (gebouwtje in rood) en zorgden voor de aanvoer van water naar Narbonne. Om toezicht te kunnen houden werden een soort halfcirkelvormige constructies gebouwd : de mont-joies (163).
