Fort McAllister State Park CITO
April 25, 2015 5:30pm - 7:00pm
Come join us in giving back to a great state park and earn your 2015 CITO Weekend virtual souvenir!
Come out to Fort McAllister State Park for the Cache In Trash Out weekend on April 25, 2015!
For years Fort McAllister has shown its support for the geocaching community by hosting numerous events for the Georgia Geocaching Association and Georgia GeoCampers as well as a multitude of geocaches for everyone to hunt.
This CITO event will consist of general cleanup of the picnic area, playgrounds and whatever else Ranger Sarah finds for us to do. There should be plenty to clean up as this coincides with the Parks annual Woodland Spring Festival (9 AM to 5 PM) which includes Craft vendors, plant vendors, food concessions, and more. Live music and craft demonstrations. Participate in creating a sculpture in the trees and a Parade of faeries of all ages.
CITO volunteers will have the $5 parking fee waived. Just let them know you are there for the volunteer clean up and they will provide you with a parking pass (may have to get it from the office).
The meeting point will be at or within eyeshot of the posted coordinates. We will begin gathering around 5:30pm to sign in and receive our assignments.
Bring water, snacks, insect repellent, sun screen, gloves, and anything else you think may be beneficial. The CITO will go on rain or shine, so be prepared for whatever mother nature may throw our way.
Fort McAllister will supply garbage bags, latex gloves and any other materials needed.
So, please take this opportunity to come socialize with your fellow geocachers while giving back to one of our finest state parks!
After the CITO, be sure to GET OUT, GET DIRTY, and GET FIT on the trails and hunt some geocaches!
During the Cache In Trash Out weekend, CITOs will be coordinated in Georgia State Parks all over the region, so, if you cannot make this one, please, find one somewhere.
Thanks in advance for your participation and support!
