Geocache Description:

A new flock of birds has been released on the Port Hills. All relatively straightforward to find, but some navigational/ routefinding skills will be handy. And watch out for Mountainbikes! Due to forests in the area cord's could be +/- 10m approx, so clues are pretty specific. Please leave hidden!

Under a few pinecones when placed. Watch for downhill mountainbikes! Theres a fairly well defined track, but it is up a hill and not marked so make sure you are in tramping/ navigation mode!

A truely graceful bird, and very special to NZ. The eastern great egret (Ardea alba modesta), a white heron in the genus Ardea, is a subspecies of the great egret (A. alba). It was first described by British ornithologist John Edward Gray in 1831.[1]
