This cache highlights the monument honoring the Culpeper Minute Men erected by the Culpeper Minute Men chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). The monument was erected on 06/14/1971. During the American Revolutionary War, The Culpeper Minute Men first organized themselves here before marching off to fight the British at the Battle of Great Bridge in Chesapeake in 1775.

The cache site is nestled between Yowell Meadow Park, the public park operated by the Town of Culpeper, and the LakeView of Culpeper residential subdivision. There are two options to approach the cache.....

The Scenic Route: Park at waypoint P1 in the Yowell Meadow Park parking lot. Follow the walking path, crossing the bridge over Mountain Run, heading in the general direction of the cache site until you reach a sign directing you towards the "Daughters of the American Revolution Monument". Take the dirt trail up to the monument site. Overall, this should be about a 1/2 mile walk. Please note, the park is open from dawn to dusk.

The Easy Route: Park at waypoint P2 on Monument Lane to make this a quick park & grab. This is public street parking, however, please respect the residential nature of this street. Should the parking right in front of the "Monument Lot" be taken, parking is available at the end of the street on the cul-de-sac leaving you a short walk, along the street, from the cache.

You're looking for a nano container. It isn't necessary to enter the park (unless you came from the scenic approach) or cross into the fenced in area around the monument itself. You'll need to bring your own writing utensil and, depending on your dexterity, perhaps a small prying tool to remove the log. Some stealth may be needed from the occasional muggle walking along the trail or those who may be watching from their habitat structures nearby. Lighting is not available at the cache site so recommended for daylight hours only.
