This one stage multicache is the third cache to bring people to this interesting site. There is also an Urban Illusion (GC1FV8A) hidden in the church grounds and Wellywood's Christ Church, Taita, mystery cache (GC4J0N8). More details about this historic building are available in these other cache descriptions. The following excerpt is of special note. "The significance of Christ Church far exceeds its age, it was the catalyst for Parliament deciding to pass the Historic Places Act (1954) and the later formation of the Historic Places Trust. This was the first time New Zealanders had lobbied to save an historic building. The Church and graveyard are now both a memorial to the faith and determination of the settler families and local Maori and to the vision of those who have worked for its preservation."
The current cache requires you to read through the display board and extract relevant information to allow you to locate the cache final which is hidden nearby in the suburb.
