DO NOT CLIMB ON THIS MONUMENT!
Memorials do not glorify war. They are intended to honour those who sacrificed themselves to bring peace. This cache brings you to a Peace memorial and view of an international Bridge and park where these two countries join to celebrate our friendly relationship.
This is a nano cache. It should be easy to find despite only half of it is showing. The monument was built in the 1930's (see related link) and is meant to be a celebration of Peace and Freedom. The park is owned by the Niagara Parks Commission and is home to the annual Friendship festival to celebrate peace between two countries that border each other. The Road "Veteran's Way" leads to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 77 which has a panoramic view of the park.
The veterans will likely be watching you stare at the monument while looking for the cache which will make them think you are paying respects. Sometimes when we spend all our time looking at our GPS or looking for a container we forget to look at the area the CO brought you too.
*Although it is not required it would be nice if we all added one picture of a different part of the monument either the statue or arches. There is so much sculpture, inscriptions and beautiful gardens here.
