Puma Canyon is located between the San Gabriel Mountains, to the south, and the Mojave Desert to the north. This is know as a "Transition Habitat" zone where species of both mountain and desert come together in one area. This land is protect as the Puma Canyon Ecological Reserve, set aside for your hiking and horseback riding pleasure by Transition Habitat Conservancy. You are encouraged to visit and enjoy the area. Please help us by helping to keep it clean and pristine for future visitors.

Here you will find Pinyon Pines, California Junipers, Purple Sage, peaceful bird song and lots of other little surprises along the way. The canyon and surrounding hillsides are home to many cool native plants and critters. Sometimes Golden Eagles can be seen soaring above. This is a great area for an adventure. Bring water, snacks and your sunscreen! Dogs are welcome, but remember that wild animals live here and watch out for cactus in their paws.

A series of caches were placed along a 2 mile loop in Puma Canyon. There are 3 entrances to the park. This location is the main entrance to the start of your adventure. There are other off shoots of trails. There are signs posted along the trail that may help you find your way. Please respect all property and signs in the park. This area has been vandalized in the past so you may find cameras along the way to help detour any such malice.
