Perda ’e Liana is one of the national monuments of Sardegna.
It rises to about 1300m and can be seen from far and wide. It lies at the beginning of an area known as the Gennargentu, and is part of the national park and offers some of the most spectacular scenery in the area. There is an old legend that tells that Perda’e Liana was one of the Hell’s doors, from where demons and witches came out to frighten mortals. La leggenda di Perda ‘e Liana
Una vecchia leggenda narra che Perda ‘e Liana sarebbe stata una delle porte dell’inferno, da dove uscivano demoni e streghe per fare del male ai comuni mortali; un antico detto popolare che recita “A sa Perda ‘e Liana su hi heres ti dana”, “A Perda ‘e Liana ciò che chiedi ti viene dato”, starebbe a significare che chi voleva diventare ricco o desiderava qualcosa che non poteva avere si recava ai piedi del monte per offrire la propria anima al diavolo in cambio di ciò che desiderava.
