This site was once part of a sugar plantation owned by David Levy Yulee. The small park contains the remnants of the once-thriving 5,100 acre plantation: a forty-foot limestone masonry chimney, iron gears, and a cane press. The steam-driven mill operated from 1851 to 1864 and served as a supplier of sugar for southern troops during the Civil War. The park also offers a picnic pavilion, tables, grills, and a restroom.
The cache is a small jar hanging from a tree near the back perimeter of the picnic area. It contains a log only.
Someone has placed another cache or a letterbox cache on the ground nearby. That is NOT my geocache.
