Falls Entrance (BOP) Traditional Cache

This is placed at the start of the track down to GC24C5: Omanawa Falls hidden in October 2001, which is one of the oldest active caches in this area. It really is a place worth visiting. This entrance cache is easy to find as it is only a little way down from the car park.

This is a simple hide at ground level. As there is now a security camera placed nearby, and often other people using the track, please be stealthy when retrieving the container, and cover with natural material when replacing.

PLEASE NOTE: The whole area has been upgraded since the cache was originally placed, so it’s no longer able to be found at night (fenced off and gates closed).

The replacement container only holds a logbook but there is room for swaps and small trackables. Please bring your own pen.

If you can take time to go down to view the falls do so, as it is a beautiful area. It can be cold in the winter so take a warm jacket, but the walk back uphill will warm you up! Please note a moderate to high level of fitness is required to walk the entire track, as there are many steps.
